Most people have an idea of what they think Street Magic is. However, what
most people do not realize, is that up until 1996 when David Blaine's Street
Magic special aired for the first time, "Street Magic" was something
completely different. Street Magicians were in a different class of entertainers
that could also be called street performers, or buskers.
What most magicians refer to as street magic these days, is better described
as close-up magic, performed in an "impromptu" setting for strangers
